The Gang of Six was a group headed by the Vice President for Finance and Administration, then Richard Spies, that included the Vice President for Facilities, the Vice President for Computing and Information Technology, the Treasurer, the Director of Public Safety, the Vice President for Human Resources, and the General Counsel. As of 1994, the people in these roles were: Gene McPartland, Ira Fuchs, Ray Clark, Jerrold Witsil, Audrey Smith, and Howard Ende. The Vice Provost (Ruth Simmons, 1992-1995) attended the meetings. The records contain Gang of Six material between 1988 and 1996.
