Arranged alphabetically by correspondent name. Records relating to the reorganization of the Office of the President have been separated and moved to the beginning of the series.
The Office of the President still holds a small amount of records from the administration of Harold T. Shapiro. The eventual transfer of the remaining records is expected from the Office of the President.
Appraisal has been conducted in accordance with Seeley G. Mudd Manuscript Library guidelines.

Records related to undergraduate admission in this series are restricted for 75 years from the date of creation of the record. Restricted folders are indicated in the folder description.
Records related to the Board of Trustees in Subseries 2A are restricted for 30 years from the date of creation of the record.

- Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
For preservation reasons, original analog and digital media may not be read or played back in the reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media but may not remove it from its enclosure. All analog audiovisual media must be digitized to preservation-quality standards prior to use. Audiovisual digitization requests are processed by an approved third-party vendor. Please note, the transfer time required can be as little as several weeks to as long as several months and there may be financial costs associated with the process. Requests should be directed through the Ask Us Form.
