Abstract

Donald A. Marsden was a member of the Princeton class of 1964, a Triangle Club alumnus, and author of the 1968 book The Long Kickline: A History of the Princeton Triangle Club. The collection consists of Marsden's materials related to his published history of the Triangle Club, The Long Kickline, as well as materials documenting his undergraduate experience at Princeton University, and research materials for an unpublished book on F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Collection History

Acquisition:

Series 2 and 3, material on F. Scott Fitzgerald and Donald Marsden's undergraduate material, were donated in 2021 by Gayle Evans Brookfield (AR.2021.058).

Custodial History

The first series, Collection on Triangle Club, was previously part of the Theater Collections maintained in Firestone Library.

Appraisal

No appraisal information is available for the Collection on Triangle Club. Some materials were separated from the later accession, AR.2021.058, including duplicate Triangle Club programs.

Processing Information

This collection was previously titled "Donald Marsden Collection on Triangle Club." In 2021, additional papers of Marsden's were donated and the previously existing collection became the first series of the Donald Marsden Papers. The additional papers from Marsden's undergraduate years and his research for a book on F. Scott Fitzgerald were added and described by Phoebe Nobles in 2022.
