The Dick Kazmaier Papers include Kazmaier's course materials (class notes, exams, and thesis research material), as well as football team photographs, award certificates, and a scapbook of newspaper clipplings from 1949 to 1953.

Kazmaier

Dick Kazmaier was a Princeton University student and football player from 1948 to 1952. Born Richard Kazmaier Jr. on November 23, 1930 in Maumee, Ohio, he attended Princeton University from 1948 to 1952, playing football all four years. He was part of the undefeated teams of 1950 and 1951, and in 1951 won the Heisman Trophy. Though he was recruited by the NFL, Kazmaier did not play football after his undergraduate years. In 1966, Kazmaier was inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame. Princeton retired his jersey number, #42, in 2008.

He was the father of Patty Kazmaier-Sandt ('86), member of the Princeton women's ice hockey team.

Acquisition:

The papers were donated by Patricia Kazmaier in January 2016 , with a later addition in October 2016 .

Appraisal

Plaques were transferred to the Princeton Athletics Department.
