Collection Description & Creator Information
- Scope and Contents
Deed, dated December 4, 1714, regarding a land transfer transaction on August 18, 1713, from Queenemaka and Telekomis to Daniel Coxe, Mathew Gardiner, Thomas Stevenson, Joseph Kirkbride, John Budd, John Wills and Peter Fretwell for land in Burlington County, New Jersey, including "All that tract or parcell of Land Sittuate and Lying within the Said Western Division of New Jersey fronting upon the River Dellaware from the upper side of the Land Late Watainemans [?] being about four Miles higher upon the River then Bahoqualong unto or near the upper part of the Minisink where it meets with the Land of Teephhew &c. Being bounded on the Northwards and Eastwards with the Land Taphow and his relations and the Land Late Sold to the above mentioned proprietors on the Lower side of Mushonetonck on the Southward with the Land Late Watainemans & and his relations now sold to the said proprietors above named and westward with the River Delaware."
The deed lists materials and monies that were part of the transaction.
The document includes an addendum noting that the inclusion of Telekomis as the original owner of the land along with Queenemaka was a mistake; rather, it indicates that Queenemaka was the sole proprietor of the land involved in this transaction.
The deed was recorded by Hugh Huedy with Cors Vrom, interpreter Solomon Davis, and Ari Moleneur as witnesses.
- Arrangement
The letters and documents have been tipped into 10 folio-sized bound volumes and are arranged in rough, chronological order.
