    <p>Copy of a treasonable letter sent August 30, 1780 from Benedict Arnold to British Major John Andre under the pseudonyms of Gustavus and John Anderson respectively. On the verso is an autograph certificate by Robert H. Harrison, secretary to George Washington, explaining how the letter was obtained and that the copy was made for the use in the Varick Court of Inquiry. 2 pp.</p>
