The collection consists primarily of correspondence (1959-1974) between American poet Allen Tate and Charles H. Foster, an editor of the New England Quarterly . Also included are one folder of correspondence (1966-1978) between Helen Heinz Tate and Foster, and one folder of correspondence (1962?-1966) between Isabella Gardner Tate and Foster, as well as clippings and related material.
