Consists of correspondence and manuscripts of authors published by the firm, letterbooks, financial records, inventory records, copyright records, advertising records, trade catalogs, stockholder records, and a series consisting of photographs, publicity materials, and clippings relating to Robert Frost. Authors represented include Robert Frost, Henry Adams, William James, Carl Sandburg, John Dewey, Albert Schweitzer, Hamlin Garland, and H. L. Mencken.

Representatives of the University Club in New York City, from whom the Library received a small addition of publishing correspondence (AM 2019-13), believe they received this material from Henry Holt around the time that the bulk of the archives were acquired by Princeton.
