The collection contains some miscellaneous papers of Bradford, governor of Maryland during the Civil War, but the collection consists primarily of speeches, correspondence, documents, and printed matter of Bradford's son, Samuel Webster Bradford (Princeton Class of 1875). Included are wills for both father and son, and addresses, letters to the editor, account books, and some legal correspondence of the son.
