Collection Description & Creator Information

The collection consists primarily of Gläser's writings, notes, diaries, calendars, and ledgers. The writings include his poems to his wife, Kathi Albrecht-Gläser; essays; literary criticism; epigrams; an autograph manuscript of Das Schwarze Buch (1923) along with a diary Gläser kept during the writing of the book; and the typed manuscript with holograph corrections of Der Wind Vor Tag (1948), which he wrote under the pseudonym of "Albrecht Homer." The ledgers (1916, 1925-1942) document personal accounts and expenditures, including payments for literary works. There is also a sketchbook of pencil drawings (1920), a bibliography, magazine articles (1929-1939) compiled by Gläser and his wife, and a small selection of correspondence (1940s).
