    <head>Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements</head>
<p>For preservation reasons, original analog
and digital media may not be read or played back in the
reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media
but may not remove it from its enclosure. All analog
audiovisual media must be digitized to preservation-quality
standards prior to use. Audiovisual digitization requests
are processed by an approved third-party vendor. Please note,
the transfer time required can be as little as several weeks
to as long as several months and there may be financial costs
associated with the process.

    <head>Scope and Contents</head>
<p>The collection consists of four book-length manuscripts by Lundy (Princeton Class of 1846): Monumental Christianity (1876), a treatise on ancient Christianity and symbolism; "Prehistoric Worship in America"; "Prehistoric Rock-Inscriptions of North America"; and "Alaskan Legends from [Abbe] Petitot", including the Cree legend of Ayas and a series of six of his lectures on the aboriginal civilization and religion of prehistoric America.</p>  </scopecontent>

    <head>Biographical / Historical</head>
<p>A graduate of Princeton (Class of 1846), Lundy became a deacon in the Protestant Episcopal Church and was chaplain of the state prison in Sing Sing, New York. In 1869 he became rector of the Church of the Holy Apostles in New York City but resigned in 1875 due to health issues.</p>  </bioghist>
