Abstract

Consists of microfilm strips and prints from microfilm of French botanist Auguste Plée's sketchbook of American and Canadian views and a long letter (with typed copy) to his family in France describing his journey in the United States and Canada in 1821 as a botanist for the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris.

The collection consists of microfilm strips and prints from microfilm of Auguste Plée's sketchbook of American and Canadian views and a long letter (with typed copy) to his family in France describing his journey in the United States and Canada in 1821 as a botanist for the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris. Included are sketches of the Hudson River, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Quebec, Lake Champlain, and Niagara Falls.
