- Description:
The collection consists of works, letters, photographs, and printed matter of Janes, a teacher at the Kumamoto Yogakko (Kumamoto School for Western Learning) in Japan (1871-1876). The collection contains his religious, historical, educational, and literary articles as well as letters written by Janes to his family. The photographs include pictures of Janes's family and scenes of Nara, Nikko, Kumamoto, and other Japanese cities.
