Description:

The collection consists of administrative records of the Constantinople "metochion" of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem. Included are documents concerning property transactions of the Holy Sepulchre; promissory notes issued by the Holy Sepulchre in the 1820s; documents relating to publishing activities of the Holy Sepulchre (1824-26, 1853-57); early 20th-century Constantinople correspondence of a textile company named Sterea; and various other Greek and Ottoman documents.
