Scope and Contents

Collection of texts in Arabic and Persian, mostly attributed to the Bāb. This ms. is described in Dr. Saeed Khan's notes (William McElwee Miller papers, C0385, box 4).

28 lines per page. Written in small naskh with elements of nastaʻlīq in black. Corrections and notes on the margins (some cut off due to the trimming of the pages). Two spine labels (vertical) with inscription in Arabic script, reading respectively: "49- [partly illegible]" and "211 Sharḥ-i ṣam[ad] alvāḥ-i ziyād-- arbāb." See inscription in Arabic script in pencil on fol. (i)a:"493 Sharḥ-i ṣamad va alvāḥ-i ziyād-i arbāb." Note mentioning the number of folios (awrāq) and of verses (bayt) on fol. 1a. The modern foliation in pencil in Western numerals (followed in this record) omits the first folio.
