The collection consists of bound, typed transcripts of journals kept by Beach (Princeton Class of 1926) on his travels around the world with family and friends, spanning the years from 1956 to 1988. During the 32 years covered by these 39 volumes, the Beaches visited many countries, including Spain, France, South America, Mexico, India, Iran, Africa, Thailand, Tahiti, Australia, Scandinavia, and England. Several of the journals are accompanied by volumes of photographs, and many volumes are bound in such exotic materials as fur, bark, fabric, and leathers from elephant, ostrich, and various reptiles.
