- Description:
The collection consists of letters and cards by Du Maurier to her American publisher, Douglas Black, who was president of Doubleday & Co. from 1946 to 1963. There are 15 letters concerning literary and personal matters, and 13 Christmas cards, spanning the years 1947 to 1976. Also present are several photographs of Du Maurier and her home in Cornwall, England, an invitation to her daughter Flavia's wedding, and three letters by her husband, Sir Frederick Browning, to the Black family.
