Scope and Contents

Crawshaw's writings include work on her book The Cyprus Revolt (1978), work for Professor Francois Crouzet's book Le Conflit de Chypre (for the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace), her notes on Rauf Denktash's The Cyprus Triangle, lectures, broadcasts, and articles from her journalistic career, and her notes, journalistic and otherwise. The Cyprus Revolt focuses on the efforts of the Greek-Cypriot population to unite with Greece from 1955 to 1959. Denktash has been the main leader of the Turkish-Cypriot community since the 1950s and the president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus since it declared its independence.

This series is arranged into four subseries: The Cyprus Revolt, Miscellaneous, Broadcasts, Lectures, and Articles, and Notes.

This collection was processed by Nilgun Yankaya in October, 1999. Finding aid written by Jannon Stein in August, 2000. New material received and it was processed and arranged by accession in the following: Subseries 1C and Series 6-8 by Kalliopi Balatsouka in 2022. The new material added to the Finding Aid written by Kalliopi Balatsouka in March 2022.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements

For preservation reasons, original analog and digital media may not be read or played back in the reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media but may not remove it from its enclosure. All analog audiovisual media must be digitized to preservation-quality standards prior to use. Audiovisual digitization requests are processed by an approved third-party vendor. Please note, the transfer time required can be as little as several weeks to as long as several months and there may be financial costs associated with the process. Requests should be directed through the Ask Us Form.
