Collection Creator Biography:

Decker, Peter R

Decker was born in Shawangunk, N.Y., in 1776. He learned the trade of a tailor, but eventually started several singing schools, joined the Dutch Reformed Church, and became justice of the peace in 1805. The evidence of the journal suggests he died in 1843.
