The collection consists chiefly of autograph musical compositions and/or arrangements by Boswell. They include two compositions for poems by Dante Gabriel Rossetti and by Coventry Patmore, a printed sheet music pamphlet autographed by Emile R. Blanchet, and an autograph sheet titled "Nocturne en la Mineur", dated October 1924, also by Blanchet and dedicated to Boswell. Also present are three music notebooks of piano exercises Boswell wrote titled "Analytical Study of Piano Technique" (1950), with a preface by Robert Casadesus. In addition to the music, there is a diary dating from 1912 to 1924, which includes dates of lessons taken by Boswell with Blanchet, Otto Barblan, Louis A. Coerne, and Rudolph Ganz.
