Bryce, James Bryce, Viscount, 1838-1922

James Bryce was a British historian, statesman, and diplomat. He wrote significant works in several fields including the History of the Holy Roman Empire (1864), The American Commonwealth (1888), Studies in History and Jurisprudence (1901), and Modern Democracies (1921).

Acquisition:

Bryce's 1907 letter to Price was a gift of Luther E. Price. Various AM.

The collection was formed as a result of a Departmental practice of combining into one collection material of various accessions relating to a particular person, family, or subject.
