The collection consists of a small archive of files from English publisher and author Fredric Warburg (of Secker & Warburg), including typed carbon copies of literary/business letters from George Orwell, original letters from other authors (Eunice Frost, Mrs. Thomas Mann, Violet Schiff, Frank Swinnerton, etc.), photographs, newspaper clippings, and miscellaneous notes. Much of the material relates to Warburg's own work An Occupation for a Gentleman.
