The collection consists of selected correspondence, documents, and a genealogy of the Field family of New Jersey. Members of the family include Mary Peale Field, her son Robert Field (Princeton Class of 1793), and his son Richard Stockton Field (Princeton Class of 1821). A long letter, dated 12 January 1777, by Mary Field to her sister, Mrs. Grace Parr, in Lancaster describes Revolutionary War activities around her home, White Hill Mansion, in what is now Fieldsboro, N.J.

For preservation reasons, original analog and digital media may not be read or played back in the reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media but may not remove it from its enclosure.
