Collection Description & Creator Information
The collection consists chiefly of selected correspondence of William Holman Hunt. Correspondents include Arthur Hughes, Helena Faucit Martin, John Everett Millais, William Michael Rossetti, John Ruskin, Thomas Woolner, Henry van Dyke, and others. Some of Hunt's letters are addressed to his friend "Bradley" where Hunt writes about his painting The Triumph of the Innocents. Also included is a copy of Hunt's pamphlet on Alfred Tennyson's poem "The Lady of Shallott," upon which he based one of his paintings, and some family letters and photographs.
