Manuscript map (true copy), pen-and-ink on paper, with some wash color. Scale: 100 chains = 1 inch. Shows area between Staten Island on the east, the Raritan River on the south, the Passaic River on the north, and the north branch of the Passaic River on the east. Elizabeth Town and Newark Bay are noted. A key identifies a dozen other features of the map. On verso, a lengthy note explains the legal purpose of this map made by William Parsons and Edward Scull in a case (James Penn vs. John Chambers) before the Supreme Court, Somerset, 17 August 1741.
