Henry Markinfield Addey was a London publisher who is known for publishing Gustave Doré in England and for publishing the first English edition of Edgar Allan Poe's complete poems. Born in 1818, Addey apprenticed with a bookseller in Barnsley and joined Chapman and Hall in 1845. In 1849, he partnered with Joseph Cundall to form Cundall & Addey. Three years later, he left Cundall and Addey to found his own company, Addey & Co, which existed until 1857.
