Collection Description & Creator Information

Scope and Contents

Title from manuscript caption on verso. Two Native Americans are facing each other in the center of the photograph. The figure to the left has a plaid blanket over his shoulders which comes down to just above his hips. Under it he is wearing patterned cloth pants and undecorated moccasins. Sticking out of the cuffs of his pants are twigs and leaves, possibly insulation. The Native American woman on the right is struggling with her dark blanket in the wind. She is wearing light colored earrings on her left ear. She is wearing a dark blouse or shirt with a darker pattern on it. She is wearing plain moccasins with high tops like boots. There is a child standing very close to her. Sitting on the grass in the foreground is a tin or enamel coffee pot with a lid and a wire handle.

Abrasions on the photograph. Light smudges on back of the mount.

The mount appears to be a plain piece of cardboard unlike any of the other mounts. It is 4 x 4 1/8 inches.
