Description:

Consists of working editorial files and author letters for the Pléiade edition of Leger's complete works, published by the French publisher Gallimard in 1972. Included are 18 autographed signed letters (45 pages), 10 typed signed letters (14 pages), 2 copies of manuscripts (12 pages), 8 typed manuscripts with minor corrections (18 pages), 2 telegrams, 2 envelopes, and 14 "tetes de dossiers" manuscripts. Œuvres complètes (Paris: Bibliothèque de la Pléiade, Gallimard, 1972) was the definitive edition of the poet's work. Leger designed and edited the volume, which includes a detailed chronology of his life, speeches, tributes, hundreds of letters, notes, a bibliography of the secondary literature, and extensive extracts from those parts of that literature the author liked.
