Collection History

Acquisition:

The collection was formed as a result of a Departmental practice of combining into one collection material of various accessions relating to a particular person, family, or subject. The tropers were a gift of the Estate of Albert Friend (Class of 1915), 1964 (AM 18113 and AM 18114). One quadriptych was a gift of H. Bertram Lewis, 1952 (AM 14645); the other, a gift of Professor Herbert Kessler, executor of the Josepha Weitzmann-Fiedler estate, 2001 (AM 2002-81).
