Arithmetic workbook, 1818
Collection Description & Creator Information
This collection consists primarily of the diaries of Emily Treslove. There are twenty two diaries which collectively span years from 1822 to 1865. Most of the entries detail the Tresloves' family life, which was representative of a well-to-do family in 19th century London society. As the career of Emily's husband, Thomas Crosby Treslove (a barrister in the Queen's Counsel and member of Lincoln's Inn) advanced, the family's resulting social elevation was relfected in her accounts of increased holidays and dinners with titled members of society. She filled entire diaries while living abroad, including stays in Avranches, France and Wiesbaden, Germany.
Also included in this collection are six unidentified photographs (presumably portraits of Mr. and Mrs. Treslove), calling cards, a child's arithmetic work book, a drawing book, and a few notes, clippings, and receipts.
