Consists of a collection of forty-eight publicity and wire service press photographs of African American civil rights leaders and politicians issued between the 1960s and the 1980s. These images show Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Coretta Scott King (3 images), Dr. Leon H. Sullivan, Maynard Jackson, Dr. Ralph David Abernathy, Walter Washington, Vernon Jordan, Roy Innes, James Farmer, Sidney Poitier, Floyd McKissick, Thurgood Marshall, Patricia Harris, Roy Wilkins, Coleman Young, Dick Gregory, Dr. Nathan H. Wright, Eldridge Cleaver, Benjamin Hooks, Bobby Seale, Charles Evers (3 images), Whitney Young (3 images), Charles Rangel (2 images), Jesse Jackson (10 images), and Andrew Young (8 images). The majority of the photographs have captions, press sheets, or are otherwise identified. The collector is unknown.
