Abstract
Consists of Pluto Press publisher files produced by scholars writing about the conflicts of the Middle East, containing 164 publisher's files for 113 books. Pluto Press is a British independent book publisher founded in 1969 and is known for being a radical political publishing house that focuses on contemporary issues. Collection includes correspondence between authors and publishers, publishing contracts, financial projects, press releases, author questionnaires, chapter drafts, and cover designs. The collection spans the years 1982-2017, with the bulk of materials from 1997 to 2010.

- Content Description
Consists of Pluto Press publisher files for 113 books written by scholars interested in geography, politics, and religion in the Middle East. The bulk of collection comprises of correspondence, publishing contracts, title proposals, chapter drafts, cover designs, press releases, and financial projects. They offer insights into the worlds of authorship and of publishing while exhibiting how scholars studied International Relations and conflict in the Middle East. Some authors included in the collection include Israel Shahak, John K. Cooley, and Michael Griffin. Roger van Zwanenberg, the managing director and owner of Pluto Press, and Anne Beech, the editorial and subsquently managing director, are the primary correspondents with the authors.

Purchased from Kenny's Bookshop & Art Galleries Ltd. in 2022 (AM 2022-136).
- Processing Information
This collection was processed by Kate Mitchell in June 2022. Dealer labeled author files with box and folder numbers. During processing, boxes were condensed and some author files were divided into multiple folders, so box and folder numbers noted by dealer may not align with actual arrangement.
