Scope and Contents

Consists of a collection of (189) lantern slides (82 x 82 mm) of several places in Macedonia, Greece including Thessalonikē, Kilkis, and Lake Doiran, as well as scenes of every-day life of the inhabitants by Newton & Co. The majority of the slides are numbered and captioned and bear the publisher's name, the Newton Lantern Company, which was active from 1852 to 1913 in London.

For preservation reasons, original analog and digital media may not be read or played back in the reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media but may not remove it from its enclosure. All analog audiovisual media must be digitized to preservation-quality standards prior to use. Audiovisual digitization requests are processed by an approved third-party vendor.
