Collection Description & Creator Information
- Content Description
This collection includes 77 silver print photos taken in 1915 of Glacier National Park, Browning, Montana, with 25 photographs signed in the negative by William C. Anderson. The bulk of the photographs were taken at the Montana Bankers' Association's Twelfth Annual Convention, which was held at Glacier National Park between September 3rd and 4th, 1915. These photographs include depictions of the Glacier Park Hotel, where the convention was held, as well as the hotel's staff and convention attendees. There are also several photographs of U.S. Congressman John J. Fitzgerald of New York with Three Bears, a Blackfoot chief. The remaining photographs are of Blackfoot tribal members in Glacier National Park, wearing traditional garments and participating in ceremonies. This collection includes 24 real photo postcards and pictorial postcards, with images of Glacier National Park as well as Blackfoot tribal members and white settlers. Lastly, this collection includes the handbook for the Montana Bankers' Association Twelfth Annual Convention, which contains photo illustrations of Glacier National Park by Kiser Photo Co., of Portland, Oregon, and includes information on the park's history and the convention program.
