Abstract
The collection comprises 23 archival boxes containing correspondence with many renown Modern Greek writers, poets and novelists, translators, critics, artists, politicians, and publishers, such as Kikē Dēmoula, Antōnēs Dekavalles, Kaiē Tsitselē, Helenē Vakalo, Margarita Lymperakē, Nikos Papandreou, Margarita Papandreou, Tzenē Mastorakē, as well as American and European scholars, writers, and translators specializing in Modern Greek, such as Edmund Keeley and Peter Mackridge. Also, included are Karen Van Dyck's notebooks, autograph drafts, typescripts, and heavily annotated proof-reads of her published or unpublished works, printed material and compact cassettes related to her work as a Modern Greek translator with an emphasis on contemporary Greek women's literature and censorship.

Gift of Karen Van Dyck to the Program in Hellenic Studies for the Princeton University Library (AM 2024-034).

Printed material and typescripts of already published books were removed from the collection during processing and returned to the donor.

- Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
For preservation reasons, original analog and digital media may not be read or played back in the reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media but may not remove it from its enclosure. All analog audiovisual media must be digitized to preservation-quality standards prior to use. Audiovisual digitization requests are processed by an approved third-party vendor. Please note, the transfer time required can be as little as several weeks to as long as several months and there may be financial costs associated with the process.
