- Content Description
Consists of a broadsheet promoting Japanese emigration to and settlement in Brazil in the 1930s. The broadsheet is titled "Burajiru Jisakuno Iju Annai [Brazil Homesteading and Farming Immigration Guide]" and includes information on Brazilian history, agricultural opportunities, a list of Japanese emigration companies, detailed instructions on applying for emigration, the qualifications for emigrating to Brazil, economic data, and more. The broadsheet includes several photographs of Sao Paulo, a Brazilian winery, a Japanese factory, and a scene of Japanese settler agricultural workers. The broadsheet also includes maps of the state of Sao Paulo, noting the location of various Japanese settlements with migration statistics, and a map of the sea route from Japan to Brazil.
