Collection Overview

Collection Description & Creator Information

Arrangement

The collection donor assigned barcodes to the photographs in the Subjects, Promotional, and Thematic series. The photographs remain in barcode order and are listed in the finding aid by barcode only. Further information about the photographs in these series (namely dates, captions, and subjects) can be found in the downloadable inventory spreadsheet.

The original order of the collection as it was created by the newspaper is not preserved and is unknown. The order in which the photographs appear generally in the collection, and within the first three series especially, does not seem to follow a consistent pattern. There are pockets of photographs that have similar or the same subjects, but groupings with the same subject are scattered throughout each series and across the collection.

The Additional Subject Files were organized by the processor based on the subject written on the back of the photograph. The photographs are grouped based on the first letter of the subject (or the last name of the subject) but are not organized alphabetically within the letter grouping. The Negatives appear in the order in which they were received.
