Collection Overview

Collection Description & Creator Information

Description:

This collection contains pamphlets, flyers, posters, and monographs pertaining to agrarian practices, land reform, sustainable development, the rights of campesinos and farmers, and rural conditions in general in Bolivia. The majority of these documents date from between 1991 and 2002. While the collection includes a substantial number of documents published by Bolivian government programs and departments, the majority are published by regional and national non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

The major subject areas covered by this collection include agrarian reform (land redistribution and the laws governing agrarian peoples and practices), traditional and modern agricultural methods and techniques, rural development, and local organization and participation. Most materials are grouped by subject area and then arranged alphabetically by publisher. However, the materials in the section Institutional Programs, Studies, and Reports can more properly be said to be grouped together by their format, rather than their subject area. This section is a general one that includes materials that does not pertain to any of the other sections or that covered more than one subject area.
