Collection Overview

Collection Description & Creator Information

Description:

This collection of pamphlets, reports, instructional materials, posters and other ephemera, documents Bolivian educational programs and initiatives at the turn of the twenty-first century. About half of the material in the collection is government published or sponsored, and this portion of the collection contains many materials published as a result of the large-scale educational reform undertaken by the government of that country beginning in 1994. The remainder of the collection consists of educational materials from non-governmental organizations from various regions. A number of these also address the educational reform, its impact, and its level of success. Like the governmental publications, many of these are published in indigenous languages, or are concerned with bilingual or culturally-sensitive education. The collection also contains a relatively small number of advertisements for academic or vocational programs. All educational levels, from primary to adult and university education, are represented.
