Scope and Contents

This film contains materials either published by or targeted towards the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transvestite and transgender population of Argentina. The materials include flyers, pamphlets, posters, and public communications in the form of press releases, letters, and e-mails.

In the first section of the microfilm, entitled Publications of Gay Organizations(Files 1-8), the materials are grouped alphabetically according to the group that publishes or distributes them. These organizations may publish a bulletin, magazine, or other serial, as well as many pamphlets or monographs, all of which are listed alphabetically under that organization's name. The following section of the microfilm, Various Publications (File 9), contains a large number of monographs, pamphlets, and serials published by groups that are either cannot be identified or who are represented in this microfilm by only one or two items.

Of particular note are the large amounts of material on HIV and AIDS in this microfilm, though this microfilm contains only HIV/AIDS materials published by gay-oriented organizations. Much more on this subject can be found in the microfilm "HIV/AIDS in Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Latin America (1988 – 2000)".
