This collection contains pamphlets, flyers, working papers, institutional reports, and periodicals that address the conditions of children and youth in Mexico and Central America between 1984 and 2008. The pertinent issues in the region are child abuse, the commercial and sexual exploitation of young females, drug abuse and children's health, child labor and youth employment, children's rights, family action, as well as legislation and policy. The materials are published by a variety of sources, including government agencies, national and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and youth and children's advocacy movements. The collection is arranged by geographical area: first Mexico, then Central America and its respective countries. Within each country, items are alphabetically organized by title.
