The Survey of State and Local Historical Records, Princeton University Library Series documents the attempt to create an inventory of historically notable collections at the Princeton University Library. The documents consist entirely of forms detailing each item in the Thomas Johnson, Garret Wall, and Miscellaneous Collections, held in the Department of Collections. The forms were compiled by the Federal Writers Project in 1936. They describe the collection at the item level. Data contained on the forms included date, correspondents, size, summary and quality of content, and storage location.
