Collection Description & Creator Information
- Scope and Contents
Series II, Diaries, Journals (1902-1945), contains Hall's meticulous journals, which often include his own line drawings and photographs. Details of his student life at Princeton, daily entries of his activities on world trips, descriptions of social activities, mileage records for his auto tours, observations on World War I battles, information on his trips throughout Persia and on his Curtiss-Wright sales expeditions are included. Of special note is the July 1-28, 1918 diary entitled "War diary of the first night reconnaissance flight, First Brigade." Most of the entries are in manuscript form, but a few have been transcribed.
- Arrangement
The diaries and journals in Series II are arranged chronologically, starting with boyhood hunting trips in 1901.
