- Description:
The W. Michael Blumenthal Papers document Blumenthal's service as Secretary of the Treasury in the Carter Administration. The papers include but are not limited to minutes and other records from the Cabinet Economic Policy Group, correspondence with public officials and business people, speeches and statements, photographs and press clippings, unclassified briefing books with Congressional testimony transcripts, subject files, and so on. Files from and relating to Blumenthal's government service from 1961 to 1967 are also present.
Collection History
- Custodial History:
The Blumenthal Papers were initially held on deposit at the Seeley G. Mudd Manuscript Library and were formally accessioned in November, 2018. Five boxes were donated in 2013, though most were donated earlier.

No material has been separated from the papers.

Collection is open for research.
- Conditions for Reproduction and Use:
Single photocopies may be made for research purposes. For quotations that are fair use as defined under U. S. Copyright Law, no permission to cite or publish is required. For those few instances beyond fair use, researchers are responsible for determining who may hold the copyright and obtaining approval from them. Researchers do not need anything further from the Mudd Library to move forward with their use.
