Scope and Contents

Materials include reports, meeting minutes, by-laws, and a couple memoranda. Reports highlight activities of the Association on American Indian Affairs (AAIA) during Dr. Idrian Resnick's tenure as Director of the AAIA. The collection also includes a "director's note" from Idrian Resnick that adds context regarding the records. A couple reports regard projects such as Project Dream and the Tribal Codes and Constitutions project. There are also reports ("key documents") on setting policy and the AAIA's objectives and methods; their Program and Budget for FY 1988; their scholarship program; field representatives and staff benefits; education; economic and community development; legal matters; health; and the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA).

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements

For preservation reasons, original analog and digital media may not be read or played back in the reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media but may not remove it from its enclosure. All analog audiovisual media must be digitized to preservation-quality standards prior to use. Audiovisual digitization requests are processed by an approved third-party vendor. Please note, the transfer time required can be as little as several weeks to as long as several months and there may be financial costs associated with the process. Requests should be directed through the Ask Us Form.
