- Description:
The collection consists of twelve diaries (1886-1922) containing typed or hand-written notes, photographs, and postcards of Fraser (Princeton University Class of 1893) relating to his trips to the Southern and Southwestern United States and Canada with different family members and one (1886-1889) from several trips as a youth to Europe and the Middle East. There are approximately 350 glass lantern slides, many of them labeled with location and date information. In addition, there are loose papers removed from the diaries, such as maps, letters, photographs, and printed matter relating to the trips.
Collection History
- Custodial History:
The glass lantern slides were given the Princeton Geology Department by the Fraser family following Fraser's death, and were subsequently transferred to the library.
The collection was transferred to the Rare Books division in 2010.

This collection is open for research.
- Conditions for Reproduction and Use:
Single photocopies may be made for research purposes. No further photoduplication of copies of material in the collection can be made when Princeton University Library does not own the original. Permission to publish material from the collection must be requested from the Associate University Librarian for Special Collections. The library has no information on the status of literary rights in the collection and researchers are responsible for determining any questions of copyright.
