Native American (Ute) women stand and sit near a partially constructed tepee at Garden of the Gods, El Paso County, Colorado. One woman spreads the tepee canvas over the erect poles. A pile of household items, including a blanket and possibly a drum, stands near the tepee poles. Other tepees stand nearby. A white man and boy in hats look on. Native American men stand on a rock formation in the distance. They are probably in Colorado Springs for the Shan Kive (Colorado Springs Carnival). Description from the Denver Public Library, call number P1329. Stamp from the Kansas City school distinct on verso of print, along with typed title and inventory numbers. Mounted on 30 x 24 cm. board.
