Series 1: Student Correspondence and Writings Collection, 1769-2009 consists of materials integrated with the collection prior to 2011.

Series 2: Additions, 1792-1947 consists of materials integrated with the collection in 2011 or later.

This file consists of letters sent to and from Philip Herzig, Princeton Class of 1946, during his time in World War II, when he was stationed in Germany for two years near the war's end. These letters are the originals that are published in the book Your Loving Son, Philip: Letters from an American soldier in World War II. Herzig's widow, Helene Phillips Herzig, edited the book, which was published in 2011.

The East Asian Studies series consists of files of East Asian Studies faculty.

The Ecology and Evolutionary Biology series consists of files of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology faculty.

The Economics series consists of files of Economics faculty.

Also includes the text of a 1996 lecture, "Changing Faces," by Georgia Nugent.

The Personal Materials series contains materials that fall outside the scope of the organizations and professional activities that are included in Series 1. This includes miscellaneous correspondence to Carl and Hedda Fields, high school and college documents (including alumni activities), military papers, and memorial service programs and correspondence received posthumously.

Event programs point to some of Hutchinson's pursuits between 1940 and 1942—church services, theatrical productions, a debutante ball, a museum exhibit. Ephemera include items such as membership cards, game tickets, and railroad schedules from the early 1930s through 1944, as well as playing cards, a pen nib, and advertisements. Also included in Series 3 are printed programs from the Lawrenceville School (for commencement 1938 and 1939, for instance), as well as printed materials from the Army, such as the booklet "The Construction of Models for Protective Concealment" (1942) and a Field Artillery School Instruction Memorandum (1942).

Series 6 contains financial records such as cancelled checks and books of check stubs, bank statements and receipts from both Lawrenceville School and Princeton eras, as well as Hutchinson's meal tickets from the Officers' Mess at Fort Bragg (May through December 1943). A few receipts date from a later period, in 1951, showing purchases for garden and farm supplies. The series also contains a folder of cancelled checks and a bank statement belonging to Martin Franklin, who was Hutchinson's roommate in 3 Blair Tower, during 1942.

The Charles Black Hutchinson Papers primarily include Charles Hutchinson's correspondence and schoolwork from the period 1935 to 1944, when Hutchinson was a student at the Lawrenceville School (1935 to 1939), at Princeton University (1939 to 1943), and serving in the Army's 681st Glider Battalion (beginning in 1943).

The Nassau Hall Iconography series consists of notes and drafts for a project in which Varnum Lansing Collins attempted to catalog historical depictions of Princeton's Nassau Hall. Included are notebooks containing several dated lists of Nassau Hall paintings, etchings, and sketches.

The files in Series 2: Carl W. Schafer Files, 1930-1982 (bulk 1972-1982) touch on a broad range of topics related to the financial operations of Princeton University, including investments, income and budget. The files document his service on the Resources Committee and the Priorities Committee of the Council of the Princeton University Community, which addressed issues including the divestiture of Princeton University from investments in South Africa. The files also include information on a proposed merger between the University and the Institute for Advanced Studies, as well as the development of Palmer Square.

Series 1 consists of proposals and surveys compiled by the Office of Occupational Health and Safety in regards to radiation safety measures taken to protect workers and researchers at the Princeton-Pennsylvania Accelerator, a particle research facility that operated on Forrestal Campus from 1957 to 1971.

The Estate/Donor Files series includes information relating to trusts and estates for which the University is beneficiary. Files contain correspondence, memoranda, reports, legal documents including wills, agreements, affidavits, depositions, and other materials.

The Judaic Studies series consists of files of Judaic Studies faculty.

Series 1: Princeton Inn Records, 1922-1970 consists primarily of the minute books of the Princeton Inn Company, which generally discuss the financial state of the Inn, and cover both the Inn Company's incorporation (and Alumni appeal for funding) as well as the final sale of the Inn and its assets to the University. It also includes an oversized form book containing examples of various forms and vouchers used at the hotel.

Princeton Inn was conceived of by a group of University alumni and trustees in 1914 who recognized the need for a hotel to comfortably house the families of students and other visitors in close proximity to campus. Consists of the minute books of the Princeton Inn and a sample form book.

Consists of several hundred lantern slides containing images of Princeton University, primarily the campus and buildings.

Series 1: Cleveland Memorial Tower Visitor Logs consists of 11 log books signed by visitors to the Cleveland Memorial Tower.

Included as part of the final gothic design of Princeton's Graduate School was a 173-foot tower, a national memorial to former U.S. President Grover Cleveland who was also chairman of the trustees' graduate school committee. The collection consists of 11 log books signed by visitors to the Cleveland Memorial Tower.

Series 1: Alan W. Richards Photographs of Princeton University Athletics, 1946-1970 consists of photographic negatives and a very few photographic prints of images captured by Alan W. Richards of Princeton University athletes and sports events. Approximately 3/4 of the images are related to Princeton University football. These include shots of individual players, coaches, and staff, as well as action shots of games and activities at Blairstown training camp. The Princeton University varsity, junior varsity, freshman and 150 lb. football teams are represented. The remaining 1/4 of the images are related to 16 different Princeton University sports: baseball, crew, cricket, cycling, fencing, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, squash, swimming, tennis, track, volleyball and wrestling.

Alan Windsor Richards was a freelance photographer known for the images he captured of people and events associated with Princeton University from the mid-1940s through the late 1960s. The collection consists of photographic negatives and a very few photographic prints of images captured by Richards of Princeton University athletes and sports events.

Gordon Alexander Craig was an American historian specializing in German and diplomatic history who taught at Princeton and Stanford. The Gordon Alexander Craig Papers document several projects the historian was involved with while a professor at Princeton including the Marine Corps History Project for which Craig served as chairman of the editorial board, and the Princeton response to the loyalty oath controversy at the University of California in 1950-1951.

Series 1: The Papers of Thomas Jeffersion Project, 1943-1974 documents the Thomas Jefferson Papers Project from its conception and initial proposal in 1943 until the death of its first editor Julian P. Boyd in 1980. Contained in the records is correspondence with Princeton presidents Harold T. Dodds and Robert F. Goheen, who were active advisors in the early years of the project. Other notable correspondence is with Jefferson scholars, board members of the New York Times, and Jefferson Papers Project advisory board members. Also included are financial records, including Boyd's original cost estimations for the project. Other materials consist of an initial project proposal, annual reports, directives on handling of materials, typography, and editing procedures, and some photographs.

Ralph Barton Perry was a member of the Princeton University Class of 1896, a Harvard Philosophy Professor, and a Pulitzer-Prize winning writer producing works on philosophy, history, and politics in his lifetime. The Ralph Barton Perry Papers consist of correspondence, speeches, clippings, and other materials documenting Ralph Barton Perry's life as an alumnus of the Princeton Class of 1896.

The French and Italian series consists of files of French and Italian faculty.

Princeton University's Dean of the Faculty is the senior administrator responsible for the quality and well-being of the faculty and professional staff of the university. The collection consists of personnel files for nearly every individual at one time employed as a member of Princeton University's faculty or professional staff.

Arthur Cort Holden was a member of the Princeton University Class of 1912. He went on to earn a graduate degree in architecture from Cornell University, and joined the New York City firm of McKim, Mead, and White, later forming his own firm and advising Frank Lloyd Wright on the design of the Guggenheim Museum in 1949. Consists of personal papers and correspondence of Arthur Cort Holden.

Series 1: 1992 Accession of Papers and Photographs, 1942-1984 consists of correspondence, publications, notes, press releases, schedules, and photographs collected by Patrick J. Kelleher over the course of his directorship of the Princeton University Art Museum. Also included are syllabi and course materials from a museology seminar Kelleher taught, and awards received from other museums and institutions.
