Topics documented include land claims, water rights (especially as they pertain to the Central Arizona Project), mining, child welfare, religious freedom, education, tribal governance, and social services (the latter three issues particularly as they pertain to Public Law 93-638, the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act).

Barron's early drafts are most often written by hand on notepads, accompanied by later typed drafts. Materials are comprehensive, pertaining to Barron's published fiction and nonfiction writings, as well as some unpublished and early works. While promotional materials related to each book are present in files on that book, there is also a file group of promotional materials and awards related to Barron's writings in general.
