La colección consiste en manuscritos de las obras literarias de Jorge Díaz (particularmente obras teatrales, pero también incluye narrativa y poesía), guiones de radio y televisión, traducciones, correspondencia, fotografías, archivos nativos digitales, documentos personales, y material impreso relacionado a su trabajo, incluyendo recortes de prensa, programas, carteles de obras y premios/diplomas, revistas, y libros. Scope and Contents

The collection consists of manuscripts of Jorge Díaz's literary works (particularly plays, but also includes narrative and poetry), radio and television scripts, translations, correspondence, photographs, digital native files, personal papers, and printed material related to his work, including press clippings, programs, playbills and awards/diplomas, magazines, and books. It also includes numerous digital files, including floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs.

Díaz

Jorge Díaz Gutiérrez, arquitecto, dramaturgo, dibujante, pintor y poeta chileno, nació en la ciudad de Rosario, Argentina, el 20 de febrero de 1930. Además de la dramaturgia, escribió cuentos, poemas, textos de aforismos (breverías), guiones de radio y televisión, así como en ilustración y collage. Jorge Díaz, miembro de la Generación Literaria de 1950, comenzó su carrera en el teatro nacional a finales de los años 50, al incorporarse al grupo Ictus. Primero trabajó como escenógrafo y luego como dramaturgo. Jorge Díaz escribió más de noventa obras de teatro - entre ellas, "El cepillo de dientes", "El velero en la botella", "Las cicatrices de la memoria", "Topografía de un desnudo", "Canción de cuna para un anarquista", "El Quijote no existe" y "Pablo Neruda viene volando"- y unas cuarenta piezas de teatro para niños. Recibió diversos galardones, entre ellos el Premio Nacional de Comunicación y Artes Audiovisuales, en 1993; el Premio Antonio Buero Vallejo de Guadalajara, en 1992; el Premio de Teatro del Centenario de la Caja de Ahorros de Badajoz, en 1989; el segundo premio del IV Certamen de Dramaturgia Eugenio Dittborn, otorgado por la Escuela de Teatro de la Universidad Católica, en 1987; y el Premio de Teatro de Palencia (España), en 1980. Jorge Díaz Gutiérrez, Chilean architect, playwright, cartoonist, painter and poet, was born in the city of Rosario, Argentina, on February 20, 1930. In addition to playwriting, he wrote short stories, poems, aphorism texts (breverías), radio and television scripts, as well as illustration and collage. Jorge Díaz, a member of the Literary Generation of 1950, began his career in national theater in the late 1950s, when he joined the Ictus group. He first worked as a set designer and then as a playwright. Jorge Díaz wrote more than ninety plays - among them, "El cepillo de dientes", "El velero en la botella", "Las cicatrices de la memoria", "Topografía de un desnudo", "Canción de cuna para un anarquista", "El Quijote no existe" and "Pablo Neruda viene volando" - and some forty plays for children. He received several awards, including the National Communication and Audiovisual Arts Award, in 1993; the Antonio Buero Vallejo Award of Guadalajara, in 1992; the Centennial Theater Award of the Caja de Ahorros de Badajoz, in 1989; the second prize of the IV Eugenio Dittborn Playwriting Contest, awarded by the Theater School of the Catholic University, in 1987; and the Theater Award of Palencia (Spain), in 1980. Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements

For preservation reasons, original analog and digital media may not be read or played back in the reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media but may not remove it from its enclosure. All analog audiovisual media must be digitized to preservation-quality standards prior to use. Audiovisual digitization requests are processed by an approved third-party vendor. Please note, the transfer time required can be as little as several weeks to as long as several months and there may be financial costs associated with the process. Requests should be directed through the Ask Us Form.

The born-digital materials have not yet been processed and are therefore not available for research.
